Today is Another Day

January 8, 2010

Well, what a strange, horrible, but ultimately uplifting day yesterday was!  Thanks to @Lizziefrog, Chipmunk went to bed last night happy.  We woke up this morning to find that @shinigami, Lizzie’s son, had built a smaller snowman next to the other one and called it ‘Chipmunk’.

Lizzie and her family had also decided that Chipmunk should be the one to name the snowman they built for him.  He called him ‘Michael’ – his Grandpop’s first name.

‘Michael’ has been constantly evolving throughout last night and today, mainly due to more snowfall but also in part because of people adding things to him – including a certain part of his anatomy that shows he is definitely a boy!  Thankfully, Lizzie managed to artfully cut this feature out of her pictures of ‘Michael’!  This is him as he was this lunchtime:

Someone gave him a hat, and Lizzie brushed most of the excess snow off him so that you can see his features again.  Despite this, Chipmunk took one look and declared that “Michael has got a bit fat, hasn’t he, Mummy?”  before jumping off in a fit of giggles.  Lizzie, thank you once again for making my Chipmunk smile.

In other news, I failed in my mission to get you a Feline Friday post ready for today – sorry about that!  However, I have found some photos from Christmas of kitty acting like an idiot (a very cute idiot, but an idiot nonetheless!), so I shall endeavour to turn them into a coherent post for next week!  I did, however, manage to complete this week’s Writing Well Challenge.  Having been all prepared to do it last week, and then realising it was actually this week instead, I promptly forgot about it until today.  Consequently, it is not my best work!  Please feel free to head over to The Writer’s Block and check it out anyway – I promise it is fiction, not really me speaking!

I just read this out to everyone. The girls ‘awwed’ at the fact Michael was named that because of his grandpop and @wabbit loves the fact the Chipmunk giggled. It really is quite rewarding to know he can share in the life of Michael the Snowman from where you guys are 😀

I think he is getting more pleasure out of Michael than he would have Stuart – it’s amazing what happens when people work together to do something wonderful. You guys should *all* be very proud of yourselves. (Big hugs)

Each time I read out a reply from you guys, the kids look all gooey. I think they’re getting a lot out of this too 🙂
